Hello World!

Greetings, world, and future self! I have been puzzling over how best to document and share my experiences and creative work with the world for a long time. Social media is okay, but the format is pretty limited, and my primary goal isn’t really to share my thoughts with everyone I know. I mainly want to document my life so I can look back and reminisce. I don’t want to bother people with endless updates, but it would be nice if the things I wanted to share were organized somewhere where people could see the info that was relevant to them, and where I could document and reminisce upon the highlights.

I’ve made websites before, but I’m always uncertain about how to appropriately limit the scope of the content. I have a lot of sections in mind. First, photography - but how to organize it? By date, category, location? Should I sell it? Would anyone even be interested in that? Travel, food, writing, that silly hackathon game I made. My Software Engineering resume - is it okay to combine work and my personal blog in one site?

I thought it could be cool to make my own site from scratch, show off my Software Engineering skills, learn more about cloud engineering, add fancy animations and such. But do I really want to be deploying code every time I want to make a change to the site?

Anyway, I decided to start a blog. I can build onto this site, add those other sections perhaps. But this way I can at least start documenting and sharing some experiences and photos. It can be hard to stop thinking about what to do and start doing something, so I’d better get started.

Edit: Oh, I need to add a picture, so here is the view from a lighthouse I climbed this weekend!
